NEED TO KNOW

  • Take the census! Get counted here. You have until tomorrow to complete the census. Make sure you and your family are counted! Here are some helpful FAQs

  • TODAY: Core team walk in 1B. We will be walking the 14th & V St area then working our way further north today at 11 am. We will meet at the 14th & V St intersection. Special thanks for DC MOCR Anthony Moore for organizing. message us if you plan on coming! We look forward to seeing you.

  • DCPS transition to in person. Per the Mayor's COVID-19 update yesterday, select DC public schools will ease in on in person learning. Schools will begin opening up for small groups starting this week with the goal to increase in-person learning for term 2, starting on November 9th. We attended the Cardozo Elementary community meeting last week and will continue to push out announcements and information on their behalf. Stay tuned.

  • Downtown dining. Keeping our restaurants in business, the 'Dine Out on 8th St' is open every Friday and weekend until further notice! If you feel safe dining out, this is a great place to do it. 

  • Ward 1 Mutual Aid. The amazing Ward 1 Mutual Aid team continues to pull off miracles. Check out their work here.

  • DC Council hearing schedule. Last week, we heard more on our neighborhoods' future of housing. This week the Office of the People's Council will hear more from Pepco, and at the end of this week we will hear an oversight hearing on distance learning at DCPS.

  • Reimagining the Reeves Center. The community input survey is live and you should take the time to answer a few of the questions! Your voice matters.

  • Make your voting plan - and do it today! Check out a ballot drop box location near you. Find your nearest early voting center.
